Spooling/Anchorage of Rope on Drum
Wires are produced with no inner stress. • Inappropriate spooling causes stress and decreases life time of the wire. A.Right hand regular lay - upper spooling should be right to left. B.Right hand regular lay - lower spooling should be left to right. C. Left hand regular lay - Upper spooling should be right to left. D. Left hand regular lay - Upper spooling should be left to right.
Ideal Pulley Groove
Greater contact area between the rope and the pulley reduces abrasion and enhances service life. The diameter of the groove is measured with diameter straightedge. If the wire rope tolerance of an open chase is considered 5%, the ideal chase Groove should be 5% greater than the minimum nominal diameter of the rope. The maximum groove tolerance is 5%.
